FAQ

How much does it cost to apply for a business account?

There is no cost to sign up for an account, and you can send eGifts with no delivery fees or charges. Of course, you will need to pay for the cost of any eGifts you send.

If the service is free, how does GiftPay make a profit?

We negotiate volume discounts with the gift card merchants, and this small discount on the cost of the gift cards allows us to offer this service to you for free. We also offer optional upgrades such as custom integration and priority support as premium paid upgrades. Contact us to discuss pricing for these premium add-ons.

Do you also sell plastic gift cards?

No, GiftPay is a digital gift card platform, we do not sell plastic gift cards. In fact, GiftPay was started as a solution to the costs and hassle associated with plastic cards. eGifts sent by email can save you time, cut costs, and reduce hassle compared with the frustrating task of sending plastic gift cards.

Can I buy single brand eGift Cards such as Amazon or Best Buy?

We strongly believe that gift card recipients want choice and flexibility. That's why we built the GiftPay system using a flexible gift card model that allows recipients to choose where and how they spend redeem their gift. It's for this reason that we do not sell eGift Cards tied to a single retailer.

How soon can I start sending eGifts?

During business hours we can normally get you started within one hour. For quick turnaround we can accept payment by credit card. If you have a need to deliver eGifts urgently, please contact us.

How is GiftPay better than other gift card and gift code suppliers?

  • With GiftPay, recipients can choose which merchant or retailer they want to shop at, they're not limited to just one store;
  • One simple interface lets you send eGifts with ease, check the status of eGifts, and resend with just a few clicks if a recipient loses their eGift email;
  • You will save lots of time and hassle with GiftPay.

Do you offer discounts for higher volumes?

Yes, if your gift volume is likely to exceed $10,000 then please contact us to discuss the rebates and free bonus gift credit that might be available to you.

What payment terms do you offer? Can I send gifts now and pay later?

Unfortunately GiftPay is unable to offer payment terms. All gifts must be paid for in advance.

If I deposit funds to GiftPay and then later change my mind, can I get a refund?

Yes, any unused funds you deposited in your GiftPay account are refundable. Please contact us to arrange a refund.

Please note however that any free credit or rebate we offer to you is non-refundable.

Do the funds I have paid into my GiftPay account ever expire?

No, funds you have paid into your GiftPay account will never expire. Each individual eGift has an expiry date, but this expiry only starts counting down once the eGift has been delivered to the recipient.

How are eGifts delivered?

Your eGifts are delivered by email the moment you press Send. Each recipient will be able to open their eGift on almost any device or platform as long as they have email and internet access. The GiftPay eGift platform is compatible with almost all desktop or laptop computers running a modern web browser, and all recent smartphones and tablets. We also offer a variety of other delivery methods, including SMS/text messaging (at no additional charge), printed vouchers, bulk gift card links, and API integration.

Is there a way to use GiftPay without divulging the email addresses of my gift recipients?

GiftPay has a strict privacy policy in place, and we can assure you we do not use the email addresses of your customers for any other purposes.

However, we do understand that you may wish to take extra precautions regarding your customers' information. For this reason, we also offer two alternative GiftPay options that allow you to manage the delivery of the eGift Cards yourself. Please contact us to discuss these alternatives.

The recipient can redeem their eGift almost immediately, with just a few clicks. There is no registration required, and no apps to install. It's extremely simple and convenient.

Do GiftPay eGifts expire?

Each eGift is valid for 5 years after the delivery date. When a gift recipient selects how they will redeem their gift by choosing a participating merchant's egift card or voucher, the validity of that portion of the eGift Card may change.

What can I do if a recipient claims they never received their eGift?

GiftPay Express includes delivery reports that let you check the status of each eGift in real time. If a gift recipient contacts you to say they haven't received their eGift, you have the following options available:

  • You can resend the eGift to the same email address;
  • You can redirect the eGift to a new email address, as long as the original eGift has not yet been opened.

What happens if I deliver the eGift to the wrong email address?

GiftPay uses an industry leading email delivery platform and sophisticated techniques to send and track emails. However the accuracy of the delivery email address for your eGifts is your responsibility. If a gift email bounces, this is shown in the delivery report along with options for resending, redirecting or cancelling the eGift.

If you become aware that the eGift has been sent to an invalid email address, you can redirect the eGift to the correct email address, as long as the original eGift has not yet been opened. Visit the Reports page, open the relevant delivery report, find the recipient, press Redirect, enter the new email address, and confirm.

Can I cancel an eGift after it has been sent?

In certain situations it may be appropriate to cancel an eGift, for example if it was sent in error.

There is no cancellation fee if a gift is cancelled within 7 days of delivery. A fee of 20% applies if a gift is cancelled between 7 and 30 days after delivery. Cancelling a gift is not possible 30 days or more after delivery. To cancel an eGift, open the delivery report, find the recipient, click Cancel, and confirm.

It is not possible to cancel an eGift after the eGift has been opened by the recipient.

You are not able to cancel an eGift Card in order to claim back the value from a recipient simply because they have not yet opened or redeemed their gift. eGifts are valid for up to 5 years and in many jurisdictions the rightful recipient's entitlement to the eGift for the full validity period is protected by law.

Can I deliver eGifts of different value within the same delivery batch?

Yes. You can prepare an excel file with recipient email addresses and differing gift values and then upload this file to GiftPay Express to process the gift deliveries all at once. Instructions for how to achieve this are available once you login.

Is it possible to customise the branding of my eGifts?

Yes, free custom branding is available. You can either supply the custom branding image files prepared to the specifications below, or our graphic designer can prepare a design to match your requirements. A limit of one free custom brand setup per account applies, and a minimum gift card spend applies to be eligible for free branding.
